Check your coolant level in the radiator.

Have you had your cooling system serviced recently? Or have you noticed any leaks? Does the car run at normal operating temperatures, too?

If it operates at a normal temp and you find that it's intermittent, you may have an air bubble in the system.

You've got air in your coolant system. Causes drop in pressure and sounds like the air is in the heater core.

Jack your front end up. Fill coolant reservoir and radiator til full. Remove the air bleeder valve (passenger side of engine, a few inches in front of the firewall). You will see this is marked with a phillips head cross.

Fill the radiator until the coolant spills out of this. Poor slowly so air has a chance to bleed out. When fluid comes out of the bleeder valve replace all.

Lower and run your car. If continues bleed following same procedure again.

Yup.

The fastest, most official way to get it out is to do what TBW said. There are other less ideal/official ways to do it, such as just pouring in coolant slowly into the radiator. You'll hear a gurgling sound as you fill it up. When the sound stops, stop filling it and let it gurgle, then begin filling again.

I had a coolant leak on another car and it was allowing air into the system as well and I didn't know where the bleeder valve was so I would put some coolant in the radiator so it would gurgle until it was barely full and then squeeze the hose on the other side to force more air out.

I would always just take a quart of hydrazine and dump it into the radiator. All the air would simply disappear. No need to bleed.
