I seen your concern, and searched the Assist and looked for any TSB's regarding your concern, I found nothing about the fuel gauge. Also, we have serviced many of the G-35's and yours is the first I have heard of giving any trouble regarding the gauge. Your vehicle has a saddle style fuel tank with two fuel level sending units, one is the main and the other is the sub-unit. The shape of the fuel tank causes the fuel to be dispersed into both "chambers" of the tank. A jet pump has been added to the fuel pump to help transfer fuel between the chambers. The jet pump operates by a siphoning action; excess fuel pressure is returned to the tank at the pump inlet, that creates a suction action to draw fuel from one chamber to the other chamber that contains the fuel pump. Warranty will most likely take care of that issue, and if any one of the sensors are faulty, they can access both units via access panels located under the back seat.Give Infiniti credit on that one, to remove the tank you have to remove the exhaust front tube, center and main mufflers, propeller shaft, parking brake cables, and the rear suspension assembly.
