I bought a used 2005 G35X a few month ago. It has 127K km now. This week it has a faulty supplemental airbag problem. I thought this is a good car and should not have this kind of problems. Pretty disappointed. Anyone has similar problem? Is G35 really a good and reliable car?

How do you know it is a faulty airbag?

You bought the car used. Do you know the history of the car? To have some problems with the car is pretty much expected. You are at 126k and 4 years old almost 5. You'll have some expenses with it. That's a price to pay for a used car. If you want to stay on the safe side you should consider to buy warranty.

I think your Infiniti warranty was till 110000km on the SRS.

Your disappointed!

You should have bought my first car. A 1958 Ford POS that would not start in damp weather.

My G is the best vehicle I have ever owned in over 40 years of driving.

And yes they they had to replace my drivers side air bag control module under warranty. There have been a number of reports of this problem posted on this forum. I don't know who supplies that part but i guess there is quite a number of failures. I'm sure infiniti will eventually press the manufacturer to have a tighter quality control.

Its not that the part is faulty, its that the sensitivity is beyond extreme. any tiny fluctuation in perfect voltage, or momentary brainfart between module/control/can system will set off a code, and regulations tell us to replace the item. Even though, 99% of the time, they are fine. I have never failed to explode an airbag that had to be replaced. They all work fine. Its just procedure to replace it, thats all. In my G20, the fault light came on, I cleared it, and its never come back on since. In some countries, they do the same, and in collisions, it still goes off fine, like nothing ever happened.
