Should I purchase an Infiniti G35 extended warranty from the Dealer or buy one from another source? I just bought a 2004 G35 sedan in March 2006 with 25,000 miles on it.

Depends on who you think will honor the situation best and still be in business.............read and study the fine print. Note most aftermarker use and change administrators more frequently.

Having a wonderful piece of paper means little if they delay and study the situation for weeks and send a examiner to try and find some reason to void claim.

ASK other [say Nissan] Dealers which they would like to deal with better

57... I believe that it also depends on what level of coverage you are looking for. I just purchased an '04 G35 coupe, with 39k miles. In the past I have not been a supporter of buying extra coverage, however, this time I chose to buy the 'Elite' plan, which gives me an extra 48mo./48k miles, beginning on MY date of purchase, (rather than from the ORIGINAL date of purchase), and is what they term a 'wrap', meaning that it covers everything from bumper to bumper. It was not cheap at about $1,600, but if you consider that the computer alone, with parts and labor can run about that much, and it only added $30/mo. to my payent, it is really pretty cheap insurance. The technology in cars today almost demands extra coverage. IMO, the coverage that the dealer provides is the way to go. There would be no question that I could get repairs at any Infiniti dealer, and my coverage takes care of loaner/rental during repairs. I hope this was helpful, and I didn't ramble too much!

You may look at some level of cost compromise as well. There are different types of coverages so cost would likely be related to how much coverage you have. You should look atyour situation and decide what you need vs how much you want to pay. I'd personally avoid the dealer for purchasing a warranty. They tend to charge a lot for it. It can be nice to have the warranty cost includd in the financing if you are buying the warranty with the car. While you already have your car, it wouldn't apply to you at this point, but if you had not, you could go out and get quotes from brokers/agents and use them to negotiate with a dealer. And if they can't get down to a price you would agree to pay, simply go with a warranty somewhere else.

That said, we also have a sponsor that sells warranties listed to the right. Their site has some good info.
