I drive a Q, but I really like the G35. If when the M45s come out, and I don’t feel like spending $50k on a car, I will get a G. I had one as a loaner the other day and I loved the way it drove, however, I thought the stock exhaust that was in this G35x sounded a little wimpy. I was telling a friend about this and he told me that he heard a G with an aftermarket exhaust that had a nice rumble at idle. I was wondering, what is the exhaust of choice with the G35 guys here.

I would recommend the BRM exhaust. For the money, I think the performance gains and sound can't be beat. I plan on going with the BRM headers and exhaust sometime next year once I am out of warranty.

Here is a link with sound clips of exhaust on the 350Z, which sounds like the G35 coupe. However, if you are going with the sedan this may not help out too much, since the sounds has a much quieter stock exhaust than coupe. Enjoy the sweet sounds.

Fred,

Does BRM have sedan exhaust already? I'll check their website.

From g35driver.com NorCal dyno day I can say that out of all sedans and coupes the loudest was 5AT coupe with BRM on it. Loudest and obtrusive. It had cai and UD pulleys, stock cats. Fujitsubo on coupe sounded good but a tad raspy. The best imo was stillen on sedan. I have some video clips, which I can't host, if anyone wants them, PM me I will email.

For sedans I have:

stockborlastillencustom mid-pipe+ NFC y-pipe

For coupes:

stockFujitsubo Exhaust + y-pipeBRM exhaust

Again, those observations are only on dyno standing at the angle to the back of the car 15 feet from it, car would definately sound different from inside and on the street.
