first, apologies for the dumb questions.

g35 coupe, 07, 43k miles, auto.

drove it in warm weather for about 40 min, no ac, shut it off, turned it back on to park it closer to curb.

the engine made an audible vacuum-cleaner-like noise, pretty weird.

was this the radiator fan starting, or something that i should get checked out? just being paranoid because it's my daily driver.

did the engine overheat? didn't seem like it. does the g35 coupe have mechanical or electric radiator fans, and is it normal?

Hey vulcanrush

No questions are dumb

Thats what we are all here for that keep some up all night wondering if their G is going to explode on its next startup. :chuckle:

From your description I would guess that the ecu was going thru bootup checks and maybe raised the rpm and turned on the fan for a few seconds on a hot engine.
Did the incident repeat?
You are still under warranty so you can always call one of the service people at your local dealer
Let us know what happens in te future.

Sounds like you just had the electric fans kick on. Nothing to be worried about. Temp gauge shouldn't move around when you are driving.
