Just like the topic states, i noticed the g35 mounts look very similar and was wondering if i could use them on my M. One reason for this is price and another is the fact that it seems i can only get the M mount from the dealer. Any info would be greatly appreciated. TIA

That's the tough thing about having a car with low production numbers, there's not much in the way of assistance like that.

That being said, it's possible but unlikely. Those cars were based on significantly different platforms from each other. I'm sure some parts can translate but that one, having a body-built use and design...the chance of matching lowers. Only way to find out would be to go to the junk yard and grab a used one but there's no economy in that.

Are you also checking with IOS for the best dealer price?

Next question: the motor mounts for this car are not a common fail point. What's driving the replacement?

Also, check on the Q45 mount of the same year and see if it's close...

Well the mount didn't fail, but during the starter replacement when jacking up the motor we jacked a little too much and the mount ripped.

Also i have no idea what IOS is, i also just searched for q45otor mounts and nothing comes up just like the m45 searches.

Personally, I wouldn't use a G35 engine mount on your car... they may look similar but may have different tolerances which could result in excessive engine vibration and noise transmitted into the chassis...among other things...

I looked at InfinitiPartsUSA.com and found motor mounts.... not cheap, but made for your car.

Yeah I found the mount for the car but that price tag is a bit steep for a rubber mount. Thank you for the info though. I know the mounts would have different tolerances but this mount is legit ripped in half, the engine vibrates regardless so i figured it was worth a shot. I'm a Honda guy and everything is interchangeable so i was hoping that something was for this car lol

understood...maybe a junk yard will have motor mounts from an 04 M45... good luck with your search and hope that you get back on the road soon :bigthumb:

One other option is to use this stuff called Window Weld on the busted mount.

Look it up. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_wHPXSXVAew

We use it on or race car to reduce flex. It might help with your busted mount if applied in the right places.

...oh and IOS is Infiniti of Scottsdale (aka the infinitipartsusa link posted above.) Joe at the parts counter takes care of us here on the forum.
