Finished O2 sensors and been running 2 days so far with no check engine light

Cut a three inch gash in the DS rear tire on I-80 today. I have wheels off a 04 g35 coupe that were purchased a while back because of the low price. 17 x7.5 +30mm and 17x8 +33mm.

Would this be a good tire choice?

245/45 ZR17 95w and 255/45 ZR17 98w Avon M500

The 255 on the rear seem ok, but is the 245 too small on the front?

Currently I have some funky looking 16 inch rims with old 245 50-16's. I would rather not try to find a tire to replace the one that got ruined today.

I would do 245/45-17 on the 7.5" wheel - this is the maximum width rim for that tire size. I did something similar on my 1995 Q45 - pictures are here in this forum in the wheels and tires thread. Plus, I would consider putting the same size tire 245/45-17 on all four wheels - the very slight difference in rolling diameters might confuse things like ABS on the car, although the numbers are close.

The Avon M500 is a relatively inexpensive tire and should do reasonably well. There are other better tires, but they are considerably more expensive!

But, first I would confirm that 8.0" rim size. When I bought 03 G35 Coupe rims, they were all 7.5" inches wide (just the offset was different between front and back). Hence I chose 245/45-17 tires for all four wheels. I got Falken Ziex 512 tires at the time though - the place selling the wheels put those on for relatively little money.

Although I disllike short tires, I agree with Z.

7.5" is just too narrow for the correct 255/45-17 size. And the +30mm offset is probably a little too aggressive if the width were 8" or the even better 8.5".

The wheels will fit fine. 7.5 with 30 will be good... 8 with 33 will also be fine as well. Very similar to the wheels I have on my Q.

anyway, those sizes look about right.... Are you sure theyre staggered, i thought it wsa just the tire sizes that were staggered and not the wheels. Double check on the wheels if oyu havent already?

Pretty sure the Coupe wheels are all staggered and the Sedans are not.

If these are the ones I'm thinking, I had a set on "Rusty" for a while, before the Rays.

Ahhh, well the 7 spoke 17's I had from a G35 coupe were staggered 17x7.5, 17x8. I think +30 and +33 respectively.

On the 17" ones I had, the offset was different front to back (the +30mm and +33mm), but the same widths (at 7.5") as I recall. I think they were 2003 G35 Coupe wheels ...

Be sure to post pics when your done as I'm going to go the same route on my 92Q - currently running 15" OZ rims - and I've been eyeing the G35 rims.
