Isn't it funny how people always compare a car to an engine? Just bored here sorry!

well the 240 will weigh like 900 lbs less then the g35, but he has 80ish more hp then you lol. i bet you will keep up with him no problem however you will hit the limiter on the SR really quick and he will easily pass you imo.

286hp vs. 205 hp...that's 81 hp/1000lbs (estimated)3650 2650 ----------------------.0783 .0773 hp per lb

so technically speaking, engine to weight wise the G35 would win

but then you take in torque and everything that matters and it's a whole new game

i'd give the s13 a holeshot advantage, taking off a bit faster, but the g35 would catch it by 85mph(ish) and pass it by a lot

Actually the g35 will crush you off the line, through the gears, and top end speed....

The g35 is a tq monster, it makes the sr look weak...

Most people claim mid 14's to low 15's with a stock SR. You will most likely lose in any situation. The good thing is that you have much more potential.

Why don't you just go race him and tell us the results instead of making us all ponder what we think the outcome will be. There will only be one right answer.

do you know anyone in your area that has a sr that could race him?? since urs isnt done yet? the G35 is hella nice and brand new so i wouldnt feel to bad about loosing. slap some new stuff on ur sr and u'll takke him for alot less money than his car.

You would lose but no too too bad. If your putting the motor in with a FMIC and boost controler then yes you will beat him. Especially if you have a good exhaust and down pipe. I raced a 99 911 non turbo but he still had 297 from factory with a couple upgrades. At the time I think I just had it decently tuned by ear and feel on my afc and I just got my avcr and was running 11 lbs. I had my apex n1 exhaust, apex n1 coil overs, apex afc and avcr, spearco FMIC. These are the basic bolt-ons. I beat him by a full car length all the way to 120 and after that he came up next to me by 130. We had to hit the brakes so hard to stop at a red light. He said, "What the fu(k have you done to your car?" That was the best feeling. If you want to beat him you better have good rubber on the rear, shift fast, and a B.C. with FMIC.

You underestimate the VQ... cranking up the boost on a stock turbo, even then would be a 50/50 chance...

Hmmmm, although I'm not stock with a fmic, 11psi, and 3" exhaust and dp, I raced a 350Z numerous times off of the line, and WAXED him royally. Sorry, thought I would just give some sort of comparison :D

yes but u also run 13.7s, the stock 35oz will be lucky to hit 14.1, and the g35 will run 14.3 with 6spd and good driver

im pretty sure but i think that the g35's run mid 14's. I also have two friends that have g35 coupes and one hit 14.4 and the other ran a 14.5.

Hell I say run'em. Myself and Former240 saw two go head to head at a track and these guys sucked. One ran a 15.5 and the other ran 16.1. Thats not normal but still, it happens.

haha i dont know about damn good drivers, but theres that one ad for the g35's and it says like rev it up to 2500 and let it rip and thats what they did first when they saw that ad, i guess tv is now teaching people how to race their cars. haha

VQs are torque monsters as someone mentioned above (I currently have a 5-spd Max). I'm not sure...VQ30DE achieve mid 14's easily with a good driver...can't imagine how fast the VQ35 would be. And since it is also RWD....good luck :)

Oh yeah, to add...it's like racing a 350Z but 200 lbs. heavier.
