The BMW 335i would win all else being equal. It has better 0-60mph times and better quarter mile times. It should handle corners about the same, or slightly better. If you held the race for more than an hour or two though, the BMW would overheat because of a lack of oil cooler - unless it a new model.

This has been relentlessly debated among the car magazines...

G35>335i BMW screwed up on the design of the turbo-the thing overheats.

S2k is a miata looking POS!STI only a mother could love its styling...EVO...nice car, but has a bad "boy-racer" image.

Mitsubishi needs to bring back the 3000GT VR4!!!...but I digress.

They {BMW (Crap)} Fixed the poblem as they produced the 335's The first models off the production line had the problem. Later when they saw the problem that is why they fixed the newer production BMW's

Ditto on what Tampa said. If you got a 335i with a production date of earlier than around May of '07, you had an oil heater issue. After May of '07, they added the oil heater, but only to those with the sports package. So although they're all '07's, it does depend on when you got your 335i or rather when the manufacturing date was...

335 will win by a good amount...have ridden in and driven both. damn that 335 pulls hard. as for s2k vs g35...the people in the s2k you beat must not be good drivers...i've beatin a few g35s in the s2k.

you put a twin turbo on the G and it will pull hard to and for the 8k more it cost for a bimmer u can add a twin turbo and the bimmer could never keep up wit the G so ill take the G over the bimmer any day

Is your 2000 stock though? I've beaten a few G's with my G too. The 2007 is a lot faster stock for stock then most other years.

Anyhow, this isn't the Honda's that spur my hate. Come to Phoenix and look at all the civic/accord Honda's driving around with a coffee can welded to the end of the exhaust pipe. Or a body kit that is held on with zip ties and double sided tape and a different clashing color the the rest of the car. Sporting american racing 14' 'rims' with no name tires. reving their stock motor at every light just barely louder then the music their stock stereo is distorting through the walmart after market woofer. Meanwhile with every hit of the ' bass' the rainbow of neon light kits inside and outside the car dim. The 'wing' that completely blocks the rear window and is a different color then the body kit and car.

If I raced every Honda that challenged me on the street I'd be in jail for life. Mean while the 2 that show up at the track where I will race them run a 17 second 1/4 mile in the left lane and then want to bore me with their modifications in line.

The guys on the IS forum made the mistake of bragging to me about their 400 hp RSX-R (not sure which letter makes it fast) when we were all trying to be friends. The thread got closed but I like to think I won the whos a bigger a-hole contest.

The S2000 does not offend me in anyway..... I would never own one. Lots of 2 seat cars do the same thing better.

With all due respect, this is an absolutely ridiculous question. Yes it's obvious I'm a BMW "fanboy"--but yes a ridiculous question. A stock 335i would walk all up and down and side to side on a G35/G37. Tuned, you better bring out your R35. The fastest 335is right now are running between 11.9 and 12.2 and trapping 116 mph+. Your average "chipped" 335i is running about 12.6 @ 112. On the stock turbos and internals. And regarding the comment of the "germans" having to use two turbos to keep up with the G35? It's not BMW who is trying to keep up with Infiniti but the other way around. I have a lot of respect for Infiniti but don't go and make ridiculous statements like that. Last time I checked it is BMW who is the benchmark in the sports sedan segment. And has been for decades. A very very VERY limited number of 335is did not have oil coolers (Automatic non sport package only) but that issue was quickly resolved with an update. There's tons and tons and TONS of chipped 335is being abused all day long with absolutely no overheating issues. Besides... all this power (even with heavy abuse--can confirm with several 335i owners) get an average of 21-23 MPG (on "chipped" cars)... whats your G35's average mpg???

Again I respect Infiniti, they build great cars (Still wish they made the I35) but it's no BMW. =) I've owned both.

the coupe is slower than the sedan. the coupe would lose to the bmw. the sedan however.. using your term bmw walk all over the G.. put the lead paint down. let the room air out. and reconsider your previousw statement. the 335i stock and the g35 stock are neck and neck. yess with boost upgrades and chips any other car do do w.e modded. to the previous post
