Hola peeps,

i was wondering would a g35 coupe stock exhaust fit an 08 altima coupe?or will there need to be modifications to the exhausts to fit? i really like the sound of the G35 exhaust unless there is an exhaust for an altima that sounds very familiar to it? or can a 350z stock exhaust fit?

You will not get the sound of a G35/350z by simply bolting up the resonator and muffler from one. The sound is produced by the design of the headers-to-y.

ahh! why does everyone want to sound like a g35/z????

it drives me crazy, why not make the sound of an altima the new standard?

with everyone trying to copy those cars it's no wonder they make fun of the coupe.

Put an exhaust on that gives the car its own unique sound...i.e. nismo, stillen, greddy, artisan, magnaflow, ....ect

I have the nismo exhaust, and it doesn't sound like a copy of the g35/350....it sounds like a BADA$$ altima coupe!!

srry if that came off kinda strong, it's just always bothered me, i mean where does it stop???......

-g35 replica spoiler-g35 wheels-g35 exhaust-g35 body panels? lol

not bashing anyone with these mods because they can look really sweet, just trying to make a point. Be original

but if you MUST, I would go with the nismo or artisan.

well im trying to find a exhaust that dont break the bank and i like the sound of the exhaust im not trying to copy i just like it. Like i found someone selling a nismo for about 699 but i found another selling the y pipe and exhaust for g35 for about 120 and i will need to find the headers but i know i would have to modify the whole thing

dude i def. understand breaking the bank, If I were you I would look a some universal magnaflows, ther are some vids on youtube and it sound really nice. Just take your car to a muffler shop and they can take care of making the universals fit.

I wouldn't imagine it costing more than $300-$450 including the mufflers. It just depends on how fancy you want it. Thats still about the cheapest price you will find a cat-back.

if you are just looking at changing JUST the muffler...i.e. axle-back, i'm sure a muffler shop could fab up some piping to make the g35 or Z muffler fit. If you want a new system, take a look at stillen, borla, and I think tanabe all have axle-backs, but that will get into your cost issue.

on my old 535i, I got a universal magnaflow and the muffler shop made it an axle back system for $190 including the cost of the muffler. So you do have choices

Excellent point RC. I decided to go that route and couldn't be happier. I went with a dual muffler Magnaflow, 2.25" piping cat back. Price for mufflers, tips and installation came out to around $485 or so. It's not terribly loud, but it has a nice throaty sound. I've also noticed that the car seems to accelerate much smoother through the powerband. I'll try to get pics of it up when im off next week.

The g35 is just it's stock exhaust system and the muffler is the only part you will be able to put on your car because all the rest of the piping won't fit an A/C. So you will just be bolting a stock g35 muffler to the rest of your stock exhaust system and you won't be able to do that without modification.

lol is that a pimp named slickback off the boondocks mk1721??

Ignore what others say..

If you want to do it go ahead.

You will need 1 of 2 things.

If you want the Z/G sound get a Y-pipe and straight pipe back from that to the Z/G muffler. If that doesn't pretty much damn near replicate the sound you wont do it.

I was going to do the exact same thing as I already have the Y-pipe and was looking for the Muffler.

Keep in mind the z/g muffler set up is almost opposite of the coupe piping.

Picture here:http://www.350z-tech.com/zwiki...#file

Fabbed piping will need to be done for connections.

Let us know if you go through with it.

+1 what rich said, y-pipe plus g35 muffler will be the closest you can come to that sound.

its not the y pipe you will need to mod, its the piping of the muffler. the inlet pipe on the muffler is on the right side as the z/g is on the left

Haha dude, you have a 2.5L, that definitely wouldn't sound like the Z engine, which is a 3.5L. Two totally different engine and sound types.

But at least you're enjoying your new Stillen exhaust. The 2.5 can be made to sound decent, I've seen a few clips on youtube of them.
