"The G35 coupe’s new Sport model will be available in an advanced 5-speed automatic transmission or with a close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission. The Sport 6MT model receives an additional 15-plus horsepower over automatic-equipped G35 coupe’s standard 280 horsepower, bringing its power to the 295-horsepower range (final figures to be released later). "

They are beating the engineers senseless to find 4.500000001 HP...........production starts in Sept-October for Dec delivery.

Talk about the most ragged on the edge N/A engine Nissan has ever made for a production car 85 hp/liter.

Where's the 380 HP M45/Q or the 450- 475 HP ------5.6liter?

I was floored when I read that too. What are the odds "final figures" will go up, down, or stay the same?

Yes, they are also updating the interior with better fit and finish and trim. I am thinking that I may have to upgrade to an '05 6mt sport coupe now and trade in this '03 5at coupe I know have. They raised the base price of the coupe up $250 I think, so the base cost is about $29,500. Still the all around best car under 30k in my opinion.

Above is new interior.... a little improved. The seat controls kill it for me. I had a G35 sedan loaner yesterday for an hour and loved the engine and transmission, rides like a much bigger car (but not that sporty). But the seat controls made my right thigh numb after about 20 mins. Controls are in the same place for 2005. Great car for short, skinny people.... but not for me.

The seats are also quite small compared to my Q45. Felt like the seatback barely reached the bottom of my shoulder blades.

Looks like my next car will be an Altima or Maxima. Better bang for the buck if it sells close to invoice. FWD will take some getting used to, but a big sway bar will help in the understeer department.

I didnt mind the interior. I thought the seats were nice but not a road trip car.. Its a fun car to beat, but not a fun car IMHO to drive for a long time... The seats were narrow but not a big deal for my skinny arse...

Another thing i was amazed about is how the speed perception is. It doesnt really feel like your going fast, its so stable...

Sorry, but they dont rate the engines like they used to...

Its rated at 280hp... I WILL NOT BELIEVE that the VQ engine puts out as much power as our VH45DE..... Me and ryan were talking about it, and i said my Q has 278, and the G has 280. I wont believe for a second that the V6 is as powerful as the V8..... However, we all know the VH puts out around 300hp/330torque.. Another thing i wasnt pleased with in the G is the lack of high RPM power. Very torquey down low but up top its out of breath..... 6500 redline isnt hard to attain, but hitting it from 60 just isnt as much of a thrill as it is in the Q...

You gotta wonder if they plan to bring the Z up to speed as well. I am considering a G35 or Z soon. I may have to wait until December. Unless they bring in that interior that was just posted in the link by greg. But 295 HP and 19 inch wheels sounds tempting. I would expect a slight increase in price.

I do not like the center display or the gauge layout. The stereo looks rather ugly, but I like that it appears they are trying to incorporate a dial volume adjustment knob as opposed to a rocker button. What happened to the tape player? The center dash looks a tad better as the stereo is now surrounded by dash colored and textured material. Looks a little more luxurious in that respect. The hazard switch looks way out of place. Hopefully that isn't a final release. It looks like it needs a tad more refinement.

THe way those seats look; i think id like the oild ones better. Its like when the went from the normal to "ribbed" look in the 90-93/94-96 Q... The ribs sorta feel weird.....

Other than that i think the interior looks mighty fine!

I wonder if they are using sojourner leather in the G now.. That looks like the perforated sojourner leather...

I had the G as a loaner last month. I don't like the seat adjust switches on the seat. I prefer ala MB, on the door like our 1st gen Q. Much easier to adjust. Yea, the seats are narrow, but unlike Wes, I have a big arse. I found the current M45 a little tight for me. Time for a diet. When My wife was in the car, she commented that the radio looked old and out of date. Great drive.

I saw on Speed Vision this morning the tesing of the G35X....all wheel drive model. Went 0-60 in 6.2sec and 1/4 in 14.7 and weighs about 300lbs heavier than the rear wheel drive model. That 0-60 time was a lot quicker than I thought for only the 260hp model.

The seats are the same as what is in the coupe. So, that isn't a change really. They look to have added the aluminum pedals which looks really nice. They have changed the gauges except for the color. I was really hoping for white gagues. I do really like the looks of the new stereo and temperature controls and the new center consol and gear selector. The one thing I don't like is the orange stictching on the sterring wheel. All in all though, I think it is a nice set of improvements. Nothing great, but nice.
