I just put snow set on my G35 Coupe and to be honest my G drives like shiiiiiiiiiiit !!! ((( I've put 17" wheels with Blizzaks tires 225/50 in the front and 225/55 in rear, just like tirerack recomended. I was aware that in Chicago I'll not make it with summer sport set, but I wasn't expecting that kind of ride I mean we do not have snow yet, so that's my opinion on driving on dry roads. I hope when the snow will be here this set will be more usefull !!! I WISH I CHOSE ALL-SEASON TIRES !!!!

Well... you are driving a performance car with snow tires... so there is going to be a BIG difference. No you do not want all seasons on a G Coupe. But, when the snow hits.. keep that VDC on and you'll be thankfull you bought Blizzaks!

Although i have not gotten my G35X, i live in Ottawa where there is some snow...lol anyways the reason I am trying to get an AWD is the snow...and ice..and i know zozo said 1st year all seasons would be ok.. I am still a bit scared.. so heres a specific question directed at 07 G35 AWD owmers with stock all seasons on in snow n ice areas, other than zozo..how is it handling?

For the 35X there would be a total of 5 safety features not including AWD, vdc, tc, abs, ba, ebd. I think if you go a reasonable speed it would be quite hard to have issues, with all seasons in reasonable weather. I was reading some driving in snow articles yesterday.

And I read an obvious point but maybe not enough attention is paid to it, no matter what speeds you are at, in bad conditions, JERKY STEERING MOVEMENTS would mean a crash. The key point they made was your steering movements need to be slow, smooth and gentle. Jerking your wheel suddenly to the right to make a lane change even if ur are going 60kmph if ur hitting ice.. ur gone...to the ditch. key word SMOOTH !

But I notice most comments r from coupes, I am not that suprised they do not handle well, if I had a coupe I would most definitely get the best dnow tires out there, if I can fit 17" rims I would.. packed snow in the wheel well would could make your tires stuck totally and no amount of tech is going to solve that, the turning and whatever movements in there would be so retarded by teh packed ice and snow in the wheel well. So 19" in the snow BAD idea.... if you can even fit 16"s go for it, but I doubt you could.. I think maybe 17" is the smallest.

If snow and ice are a concern, the G to have is the G35X. If it gets really bad, you may even need dedicated winter tires (e.g. Bridgestone Blizzaks).

High performance summer tires, like the ones that came on my G37, are mediocre on dry pavement during cold weather and are worthless on snow or ice. All season tires are better and are usually adequate on an all wheel drive car like the G35X.

The best approach to winter tires is to mount them on an extra set of cheap wheels. That way, you can just switch wheels instead of demounting and remounting tires twice a year. If you plan to get smaller diameter wheels for the winter tires, first make sure they will fit.

You should leave VDC turned on virtually all the time. It will make the most of whatever traction the car has and will try to keep you on the road by selectively applying the brakes at individual wheels and playing with power. There are only two situations in which you should turn VDC off. One is when you want to drive sideways. The other is when you are stuck and need to rock the car back and forth in first and reverse to get out.

I already know that G Coupe drives with 17"wheels w/ Blizzaks WS-50 in dry conditions very loud and shiiiiity. What about putting 18"wheels w/ winter tires (Dunlop M3 for example)??? Would it be a better option?? (my concern is regarding dry and also snow weather conditions). Anyone has any experience?THX.
