I was at the dealer today looking at the Infinity G35. I definitely want the coupe. However, I was noticing that the 2007 coupes are still listed as having 275 HP, while the 4 doors are rated at the new figure of 306 HP. The 350z also is rated at 306. Does anyone know the deal behind this? Why would Infinity choose to equip their sportiest G35 (and only that one)with the old 275 HP engine?

just wait couple of months and you'll see the new wit approx. 330 hp. new style inside and out but I think the 275 is a mistake. It should be just under 300. I think

I was going by what was printed on the window sticker specs and what is on Infiniti's website. I agree, it seems like it is a misprint, because why would Infinity choose to put an engine with LESS HP in its 2 door model, when every other model (including the 350z) is putting out 306?? Back when the G35 came out, didn't the coupe put out more hp than the sedan?

If its the automatic it has 280 hp, if its the 6mt(manual trans) its 298 hpin the 06's the coupe and sedan have same hp for automaticsin 07 the sedan got VQHP motor while the coupe kept the VQDE.in 08 the coupe gets the new 3.7 motor should be 330 hp.Don't disrespect the sedans they handle great and haul ***.

Interesting.....so they indeed chose the coupe as the only model in the lineup to keep the old tech motor. This makes no sense to me at all. Looks like i'll be buying the 350z.

350z is nice car but definatly not the same refinement of the G.I'm suprised the 350 got the new VQ motor, thought it had the old one also.Could always wait for the G37... should be here in a couple of months.

If you like the style of the 07 sedan then I suggest to wait couple of months to get the coupe. It should look inside similar and outside .. well it is going to be a coupe we'll see(I think it will be a good looking one).

In my opinion, the new coupe will blow away the 350Z (shouldn't be that much cost difference either). The 275hp is almost assuredly a mistake. I think that's the HP of the first generation sedans lol. Coupes have always been right at the 300 mark. Double check that before deciding either way.

Also, as a comparison, I raced my 03 sedan against a 350z: from a 25mph rolling start they're very comparable. The 350z is just much easier to mod and tune given it's popularity.

I personally am trading my sedan for the new coupe when it comes out

Unless you want to track down a Fairlady Z, then just disregard everything I said and buy that
