Hey everyone, i just got an 04 G35 Coupe Black on black m6 with aero package and 50,000 km's . . . i was just wondering if its possible to swap out the 04 gauge cluster and replace it with an 05 gauge cluster without any modification?

Congrats!!

I see you have been here for awhile. What did you have before?

They should be the same... but why swap?? It's prolly a big pain in the azz to do as well.

+1 with G_whizz....

I don't think the gauge cluster changed from 04-05...so why do you want to change it out?

..I think the only change in the gauge cluster was the tach & spedo switched places... I don't think one is more better than the tho... Not sure if it will fit right up or not tho...

I think he's referring to the whole gauge/dome assembly, though I could be wrong. That got wider and a little nicer in 05.

Congrats on the new to you Coupe.

I have wondered if the switch between the two slightly different combination meters was possible.I like the 05 better personally the gauges have a beveled edge and that interesting little shift light. As for the the gauge swap, the wiring connectors are different. The 04 uses two 22 or so terminals, and the 05 uses one 40 terminal. I don't think it would be advisable rewire the existing harness as there are CAN lines that are very sensitive to any additional resistance in the circuit. Also the combination meter converts the analog wheel speed signal to a digital pulse signal that the ECM can decipher. It would be a neat swap though if you do it.
