Hello, I'm from Belarus and I own a g35 coupe'03. I have a problem with the catalytic converter - the dealer told me that it was not working anymore. Here in Belarus they charge $3k to substitute it. I don't want to pay that much since I'm selling the car. Is there a cheaper solution? I had a similar problem with my BMW 740 , but the guys just removed the converter and put something else instead. But the inf. dealer keep telling me that on newer cars like g35 it is not possible anymore. Please help. Any info is appreciated. And sorry for my English - I'm not a native speaker.

well first, whats the problem with the converter? Are you sure its not an O2 sensor?

You could always replace it with an off-road pipe...

yes, the problem is with the converter, not the lambda probe. I guess it is down due to bad fuel I used when I was at the countryside. can you tell me more about the off-road pipe? They told me that due to o2 sensors before and after the cat, the only thing possible is to substitute the cat with another one...

I assume you are out of warranty if one is provided in your country. If not, get it serviced under warranty.

Otherwise replacement would ultamitely be in order. Whether or not you can go with a non-Infinity Catalyitic converter may be subject to your country's laws. You might see if you can source one from a wrecked G35.

do some searching on the net...Plenty of "off-road" pipes out there. Once replaced, O2 simulators will keep your computer happy.

there is no warranty for this very car - I just brought is from the States, I didn't buy it from a dealer.

I found kinetixracing compay that sells what I need, it costs only 369 USD and 105 USD shipping cost which is OK for me.

I don't normally suggest other forums but many in US are changing G35 to high flow cats [which don't last very long but that doesn't stop the kids].

G35driver.com or my350z.com have parts for sale sections.......the freight?

Why can't you just cut and weld replacement generic cats in?

High Sulfur Gasoline?
