I recently replaced my OEM rotors and pads with new drilled and slotted rotors and Hawk HPS pads and then bled the brake lines with new fluid and then followed the bedding in procedure based on the mfr's instructions. Since I made the parts swap my brakes do not seem to have the same bite as they did with the OEM rotors and pads.

Is this normal? Any tips on how I can increase the initial bite when applying the brakes?

Thanks in advance!

does the brake feel a bit more mushy? I'm thinking you need to rebleed the brakes a bit more...

Oem uses special soft very fast wearing pads and rotors to create a fast ramp up in friction vs pedal force so when you redesign your brakes with different pads or harder rotor you get this loss of initial bite effect!

Mods don't usually lengthen panic braking distances too much not usually over 10-12 feet from the slow ramp up in first 1/2 second!

You can train your leg muscles to react faster and stronger with 6 months in the GYM...............to apply more pedal force faster.

Yes, definitely more mushy.

I'll give it a shot. Thanks.
