Anyone else experience this? It happens frequently (i.e. almost every time) when attempting to hold speed at 40 mph uphill. Now seems to be happening at other speeds up to about 60 mph anytime it's under load, but not enough to kick the transmission down a gear.
Feels like you're going over washboard bumps, but then the shift lever starts vibrating violently and you know it's the transmission. Only happens in "Drive", not when holding in 5th in manual mode. I suspect it's "hunting" rapidly between 5th & 4th.
I know I'll get flamed for this, but I haven't taken it to the dealer yet because I'm sure I'll get the usual response from them ... "Customer says 'transmission shudders in top gear, could not duplicate' ". I know this because I'm on my 4th Infiniti and everytime I get an unusual problem like this, they drive it up the block for 2 mins. and then park it, having spent little time investigating.
I just wanted to see if anyone else has had this issue. Thx!
