Hey everyone. I am going to be buying a new car hear shortly, and i have 1 important question. How is the g35 coupe in the winter/snow. I currently have a Acura CL, 95 240sx, and 2005 yamaha r6. So if i bought the g35 it would be the daily driver, as the 240sx is primarly a drag car. I know the 4door g35x would be better, but i would only want a coupe, with the 6speeed mt. The reason i am asking this is i live kinda in the country and major roads are not always plowed right away. I feel confident driving in bad snow as i am from chicago, and my first car ever was a 95 240sx, and i have owned 4. But i read somewhere that g35 coupes dont have an lsd, and the 350z does? all my 240's have had lsd, which can help alot in the snow. My other options for car's are 350z, Evo 8, and Wrx. I kinda like the awd of the evo, and wrx, but there still not amazing in the winter. I really like the g35 the best out of all of these, but living in chicago driving in winter is important. As the 240sx will be more then fast enough im not looking for the fastest thing in the world, just something newer, and nicer then the Acura CL. I would porbably be looking at a 2003, or 2004. Thanks in advance, Chris.

Ps i would probably put blizzak's on the car in the winter if needed.

It will have issues with the summer tires, but with a good set of winter or perhaps all-season tires, it would probably handle snow like most other RWD cars would.

VLSD is standard on all 6 speed coupes.

One of the bigger worries I'd have is ground clearance. The G is pretty low. Especially with the front Aero Kit. Depending on how deep the snow gets before it's plowed, it might touch the body panels. Not sure, since I've driven in snowy weather only once, but I doubt snow would be very good for the paint if you're plowing through it...

I love my G35...but if I had to drive in snow for 4-5 months, I would really consider getting an EVO. C-Kwik, is right though; without all seasons the G will be useless in the snow. Another option is to get a set of winter rims/tires, but again you may have problems with clearance.

Get the EVO MR...
