I was thinking more of aftermarket things. Not infiniti accessories

Right now I think the aftermarket support s not that large yet for the G35Coupe, as it is still very new.

However many of the 2k2/2k3 Maxima engine mods should fit.How much if any effect those would have,is difficult to say, as most of those mods address things already improved on the G35C over other VQ 35 models (intake, exhaust)

The G35 Coupe of course has been very heavily optmized by the factory to get the most out of the VQ35 so meaningful performance mods short of forced induction or maybe a numerically lower diff will be hard to come by.

If I was you I would check with Stillen they are usually among the very first to offer mods for a Nissan/Infiniti model.

According to many sources they have started develpoment work on a supercharger kit for the VQ35 engine which should fit all VQ35 equipped cars such as yours.

Wait until Spring when Nissan brings over its factory authorized Nismo parts. I would check with your dealer for more info. The Nismo parts, being warranty-safe and factory engineered, would figure to be your best bet. As for appearance mods, do a search on eBay for G35 Coupe and you'll find plenty.

"or maybe a numerically lower diff will be hard to come by."

The gear ratios are already optimized for zero to 30, zero to 60, and quarter mile time so any change will probably hurt PERFORMANCE!

It amazed me that Nissan cut it so close considering the gears effect on city mileage.....1st gear total multiplication is 13.3787 [the equivalent of putting a 4.805 in an old Q] even 6th gear is 13.83% higher [0.79 vs 0.694] than the old Q with the same rear diff ratio......correcting for a 2.5% rolling radius change......so the engine turns 2275 vs 2000 --- so only expect a 15-20% at best better highway mileage vs an old Q.....even with 6 speed.

{By the way the new BMW Z4 will use exactly the same 1st gear x diff multiplier 13.354 in a 500 pound lighter car thus the 0.5 sec better acceleration to 60}

Mods will be tough and mostly non productive at least from a acceleration standpoint especially with 6 speed.

I talked with Infiniti today regarding the NISMO products and so far they’re just a few add ons for performance, but many adds for cosmetic and handling concerns for the 350-ZNISMO Weldina stainless cat-back exhausts system, which increases horsepower to 295 and torque to 280. An S-tune air filter element, air-to-oil engine cooler, and power steering oil cooler, lightweight flywheel, copper mix clutch disc.The G-35 coupe being on a similar platform, they are estimating in the spring of this year announcing what will be available.I have viewed the 6 Speed transmissions in new model training several months ago, and the transmission is very beefy, first gear main and counter looks like a ring gear and pinion. On the reverse gears, instead of using the LOUD spur type gears, they switched to a Helical gear type which will cut most of the reverse noise to a minimum. They also improved the center support plate, which most people know will break when you do a bearing job on the older Z-cars. The clutch disc/plate and bearing is a different set up than Nissan/Infiniti has ever used before. I don’t feel this is going to be an issue of weakness by no means!!This is a very high tech car, and consumers need to be aware of certain things before attempting to achieve more horsepower and torque.There are about 642 pages alone, in the ESM (Electronic Service Manual) pertaining to the engine control for the G-35 coupe, I could spend weeks discussing formulas, tables, break downs of items concerning engine control.I will discuss the Controlled Area Network (CAN) system on the G-35.CAN is an on-vehicle multiplex communication line with high data communication speed and excellent error detection ability. Many electronic control units are equipped onto a vehicle, and each control unit shares information and links with other control units during operation (not independent). In CAN communication, control units are connected with two communication lines, CAN H (high) and CAN L (low) lines, allowing a high rate of information transmission with less wiring. In other words, each control unit transmits and receives data, but selectively reads REQUIRED data only.Data messages transmitted from any module on a CAN bus (transmission device) do not contain the address of either the transmitting module or any intended receiving module; instead, an identifier that is unique throughout the network labels the content of the message.All modules on the network receive the message and each performs an acceptance test on the identifier to determine if the message, and thus the content, is relevant to that particular module.This is the part of aftermarket chips and such might give some problems, if a receiving message is relevant, it will be processed; otherwise it WILL BE IGNORED!On the G35 , a list of the control units linked by the CAN system include:1. Electronic Control Module ( ECM)2. Automatic Transmission Contol Module ( TCM)3. Data link connector4. Body Control Module ( BCM )5. Steering angle sensor6. ABS actuator and control unit7. VDC/TCS/ABS control unit8. IPDM E/R ( Intelligent Power Distribution Module Engine Room)

So you see there are many things that come into play when dealing with the G-35 sedan or the G-35 coupe, and that is just barely scratching the surface. Give the vehicle a few more months for more information regarding the vehicle options, it is still new to the auto market!

Wow... it's good to have someone on the board that's really in the loop from the inside! Where are you located (if you don't mind my asking)?
