Hey guys is there a Brembo kit available thats similar to the one that comes with the G35? Was just looking at everythingg35.com and they don't seem to stock Brembo kits.

Does anyone know where I can find one online and approximately how much? The second lot of advanced pads have started to squeal and I think they might be starting to glaze over, so I've been told the only real way I can stop the squeak is through upgrade to a better brake system.

Ugh, do non Brembo 350z's have these same brake issues?

Which pads are you running? Upgrading your entire braking system IS NOT a suggested solution to a simple brake squeel. I'd recommend a good set of pads, such as some Axxis Ultimates (ceramic) and some freshly cut rotors (or new ones).

However, if you ARE looking for an entire brake upgrade, check out our sponsors ----->. Almost all of them carry Stoptech or Brembo or other brand brake upgrades.

Hey, thanks for the advice.

I had the front roters and pads changed about 4 months ago. They put Bendix Advanced pads on the front (apparently good pads and the same as OE Maxima I'm pretty sure). The brakes worked great, they weren't as 'grippy' or touchy as the ones it had previously (i am not sure what was on it before I got it, I am assuming they were the OE ones from Japan and had never been changed). But they develped a really bad squeal, so when I had the oil changed about 2 weeks ago I asked them to check the brakes. They discovered the pads has glazed over and essentially melted (even though they still worked great) so they contacted Bendix and got a new kind in and replaced for free. They said to ride the brakes easy for the first few thousand K's to break them in. They worked great without any squeak for the first week or so but the squeak is slowly returning.

My biggest concern is that the car is just going to chew through brake pads and going to need them changed every six months. And considering I would only drive about 10 000 km's a year, this is something I DON'T want to have to deal with.

Any advice would be great. I have a 350GT.

Hey Andy!

I can go into more detail later, but here's the deal: No more cheap pads!

See if you can get some EBC, or DBA (they're in Australia!), or Hawk pads...

The non-Brembo G35's had AWESOME stopping distances, so the OEM stuff is good. Typical auto-parts store pads are not a suitable replacement for the OEM pads, which were far superior.

Hey AZ,

Thanks for the advice. I was always under the impression Bendix made OE replacements for most cars and that they weren't 'cheap'.

I've had a look at the Hawk HPS Race brakes at tirerack (one of your lovely sponsors) and discovered that they are pretty cheap ($91 US) which is only $100 AU which is pretty respectable. The Bendix pads they originally put on cost the same.

How long should the Hawk's will last?

Thanks guys!

Well, here's the deal - it's like tires.

You can have 2 of the following 3:

Long lifeShort stopping distanceCheap price

Frankly, I'd prefer pads that "bite" and need frequent replacing... The Hawk HP pads should last just as long as the Bendix.

Keep in mind, there's a PROPER way to "bed the brakes", and it's not as your mechanic told you.

If the Bendix were $91 US, they were WAY overpriced - They're less than HALF that here... You're quoting the shop price, which is higher than what you'd pay at Tire Rack.

I think you'd be happy with the EBC or the Hawks.... Or, call dba - they're my favorite.

Bendix are an Australian brand aren't they?

Will definately give the Hawk HPS a go, I'm having the 350 dyno tuned in about a month or so, so i'll just get them changed then. The Bendix seem to be doing a good job, but I'd definately prefer them to be 'bitier'.

Thanks again for all your help.

If you can get your hands on some Project MU NS pads, I highly recommend those as well.
