Hey guys. I am thinking of buying a G35 AWD '03, here in Ottawa or Toronto. I do not see much Canadian post on this board, anyone know of forums with more Canadian participation?

I am looking to get the AWD but may get the RWD if a good AWD is not available, whats the diff between the G35 and the G35X ? ANy other things I should be aware of ? I know the infiniti comes with a basic new car 4 year unlimited mileage warranty. I would liek to buy a car before the warranty expires, and would like to get extended warranty are those available, warranty that covers everything like a new car warranty? How much doe they cost where you guys are, for comparison

Our Canadian membership is picking up some. There are extended warranties available, but I honestly don't know a whole lot about it at this time. I should probably look into myself though as my warranty is about to expire.

We actually have a very strong Canadian contingent - Some folks just don't have their location in their profile...

Other than the AWD, I believe the G35 and G35X are basically the same.

The basic Infiniti warranty is NOT "unlimited miles", it is 4 years, 60K miles (and 72 months / 70K miles on powertrain).

I was VERY happy with my previous extended warranty, and WILL be buying another for my 2003 G35.

hey azhitman,I doubt that warranty company covers cars in Canada, but I emailed them anyways to ask.

I called Infiniti here in Ottawa today and I was quoted 2400, thats based on extending the warranty UP TO 6 years from the date of service and 160,000KM... so based on a 2003 vehicle brought into service in 2003, that would extending it to 2009 at the maximum. How it works is the more mileage you have on your car theres an extra surcharge. I think the max is up to 2500 or 2600. There is another option of the same period but for up to 100,000KM. The new car warranty for the G35 is 4 years or 100,000KM. no idea how much that is though. I would assume its basically only extending the time not the mileage that it would be somewhat cheaper, I will post back when i find out.

So say I buy a car with 60,000km.. and i buy the 160,000km option thats 100,000 for a max of 3 years depending on the service date of the car would give me 30+,000 km - 50,000km a year. Thats a bit too much LOL but then I restricted to cars around 2003 due to price range.

Still a good deal, when you consider an a/c compressor replacement will cost you $1K... Lots of expensive things can go wrong with these cars.

Like I said, my warranty on my Q paid for itself FIVE TIMES OVER.
