hi, I have a 2003 g35 sedan. it was in an accident on the passenger side.the passenger seat airbag was deployed, as was the passenger curtain bag. I bought a used seat with the built in airbag and module i guess, and I put a new curtain airbag system. the light is still on.any ideas what i should do?thanks

Have you tried resetting the ECU?

an ecu reset isn't going to turn off the light. you must put the ecu into diagnostic mode to get the airbag light off.

I just had to do this because I switched out the seats in my sedan.

Steps to follow:

Turn ignition on, but don't start the car.The air bag light will be illuminated and after seven seconds it will go out and then start blinking. As soon as the airbag light goes off, immediately turn the key off and count to (5).Then do the same steps above (2) more times. After turning the ignition off on the 3rd time around for (5) secs, turn the ignition back on again. The airbag light should illuminate and after (7) secs again it will turn off. At this point it should stay turned off and not flash, if it does report back. If it does stay off, start the car and make sure it isn't flashing.

When it comes to the airbag system, I wouldn't mess around. Let a dealer fix it. Not worth your life if you crash again!

are you sure that will work even if there might be a crash code on the main airbag module? I will try those steps though.the dealer said i will have to change the main airbag module under the center console.but i heard you can reset it.thanks

in alot of cars you have to replace the air bag control module as well as the bags to reset it

if it doesn't work, you will continue to get the air bag light.

I had the same problem. The module was replaced under warranty by the dealer.

Thanks RED_DET for this procedure, it worked for me.

I have a 2007 Inifinti G35x. Living in Canada I have these Car mats called "Pant savers"....I guess they are a little bit thick. Anyway, I had reclined the passenger front seat all the way, and in the process the yellow or orange plug under the seat got pulled out of its socket.

After plugging it back in, I thought the light would eventually go out, but it just kept on flashing on the dash. I called the dealer, but all they could suggest was to bring the car in to them.

I tried other proceedures that were posted, but I guess this one is specific to my model.

I was so pleased when the light went off, that I just had to register on this forum and thank you for this.

Thank you all! This worked perfectly on my 2005 Nissan Altima. I shampooed the seats and the light started blinking about a week later. Nothing else had happened to make the light do that.

I tried this and it worked like a charm. Thanks SO much!!!
