Post

I just bought a set of g35 19" rays that are in almost perfect condition( 2 inch long not deep curb rash) and some nitto invo tires with 80% tread on them for 400 dollars... i was wondering if i had to change anything on the coupe to get them to work. i have an 08 coupe 2.5 S with the stock rims that are actual rims not the dumb rims with hubcaps... do i need to buy like new nuts to put on them or anything or will they just mount on perfect and just get them aligned.. getting them powder coated black before i put them on...

Alignment?.. :lolling: Are you kidding? That's the dumbest thing I've heard yet! You don't need an alignment if you put on bigger wheels. the suspension isn't even being touched here. The diameter of a G37 wheels are almost the same as OEM so no need for an alignment. Now if he's installing new struts/shocks, or coils, then I would agree..but to change out the wheels? No... :nono:

OP..they' ll fit no problem. There's a few guys on here running that setup...

Wow ridiculous price for G35 Rays!

Just slap them on.

Everything will fit perfectly, including the center bore

You may need shank style lug nuts. Looking at the lug nut's contact surface on the rim will confirm.

And an alignment would be a good idea if you haven't gotten one in a while (or got one done with tires that have excessive camber wear).

So much speculation, why even post dude?

Regular tuner lug nuts with a cone seat work.

Alignment is always a good idea. But save the expense for when you actually touch the suspension, or if you eat a curb.

Damn, ok, someone must've gotten a sack of coal for xmas. I don't see where the "so much speculation" comes in, so please elaborate to me via pm. Infiniti has used shank lugs for some time now, so I just wanted the OP to do a little research on his own to make sure he's got the right lugs that fit his rims. Why? Because I searched and I came across different answers.

I've said before that not everyone knows what they're talking about and will post all sorts of bad info because they think it makes them look knowledgeable. No matter how well intentioned, it's still bad info. It happens all the time on every forum I've been on. I'm obviously not calling you out, you have proven over time that you know what you're talking about. But sometimes the only way to be 100% sure is to do your own research.

So moving along with a real-world example: my oem conical lugs do not work with my aftermarket rims w/conical seats. In theory, they should, but the nut head is too large to get a lug wrench around it without severely marring up the lug holes.

Since my speculation appears to multiply exponentially when you read it, here's the part that will blow your mind - unless you have on good accord that the oem lugnuts from an AC's 16" alloy wheel will fit on a 19" G35 rim (which they may very well do), how do you know that this previous post of yours is true? If you do, then you should tell the OP so then he will be all set and we can call it a thread. And if you don't, you've inferred that it would when there's a chance that it won't. In which case the OP would have found out soon enough.

How surprising, another condescending response from you. Good job of trying to take my post out of context too - there is no "problem" with that statement even if he needs conicals. If you have a problem with me suggesting that he check just to make sure, then that's on you.
