I have a G35 Sedan, build date 02/02. I am trying to locate the Turbine Revolution Sensor for replacement. I have searched and some say it is on top of the transmission in the bell housing. I don't find it. I did find a sensor on the driver side down low. I pulled it but reinstalled it since it did not look like the round part of my new sensor. It was flat and rectangular. Any help very much appreciated. Thanks

It supposedly monitors the revolutions of the torque converter and the TCM uses it to determine how much lockup to provide in 4th and 5th. When you see high revs as though the trans (RE5R05A) is in neutral, the Turbine Revolution Sensor or its wiring may be the culprit. The workaround is to drive in Tiptronic mode.

Turbine Revolution Sensor is part of the transmission valve body inside the transmission.

Guess you learn something new everyday. Since I have a 6 speed, explains why I have never paid any attention to this problem.

I think my research went off track somewhere. I traces it back to a comment made regarding a 2000 Maxima. Thanks for the help.

Losing 5th gear with high rpms. Ok in Tiptronic. Lockup slippage supposedly controlled in part by turbine revolution sensor aka speed sensor. Suspect sensor.

Does anyone have a picture or where this is located or how to replace it? Mine check engine light is on and throwing code P0720 speed sensor circuit malfunction. I haven't noticed any problems with shifting yet, but will still like to fix it.

I also learned something new as I have never heard of a Turbine Revolution Sensor either. I also am on my second 6 speed manual Infiniti.

It looks like a fun project.

I hope the op has all the necessary tools and expertise to complete the proper diagnosis.
