or some sort of steering problem . this started happening after i had the clutch replaced with a stock quality exedy replacement. i get the car back and begin driving , first a hear a few lil pops from the front left and then in pretty much every gear except 5th , when i am accelerating my steering wheel will turn itself left to about a 65 degree angle and my wheels (tires) will turn right !!!

i stick my head out the window and i can actually see my drivers side front wheel turn in all by itself when i am accelerating , this happens especially when i am in 1st , 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gear , and sometimes in 5th under 60mph.

also when its under power making slightyl sharp righthand turns or any turns to the right pretty much , and sometimes once its turned or (snapped) in , the wheel will just like stay there and ill have to pop the clutch or hit the brakes to correct it .

this does it also when im goin up a slightly steep hill , especially on dirt roads , yes i live near dirt roads , decently groomed dirt roads that is.

well its buggin the **** outta me and ive changes tons of stuff that mechanics have said that it was, : i changed the rear struts , gotten the entire car alligned, changed the transmission mount , gotten new tires , and changed the drivers side CV drive shaft/axel because the recent mechanic said it was broken , and also replaced that seal. i just dont understand what could be causing this.. any help is greatly appreciated.

thank you

Garrett H

That's not torque steer... that's torque steer on crack.

I think the most likely suspect is the new CV joint/driveshaft/axle. That install was probably ganked up somehow. How? I don't know. You probably should take it back to them and tell them to go drive it. They'll fix it for free or expect to get sued to no end when you wreck because of their shoddy work.

well i could do that , but umm it was doin it before i changed the new cv chaft , i changed the shaft because of the "torque steer" it was the other shop that originally caused it

Oh, I misread you.

What did the other shop do right before this started happening? That's the best place to start.

well this all started happening after they changed the clutch. so they took off the entire transmission , shifter linkage , intake , lower control arms engine and transmission mounts that go underneath of car , both front tires , both axels, pretty much everything...so i think tey messed sumthin up inside of there

And, thus, they should fix it.

For free.

Almost sounds like a lower control arm or ball joint issue.

Either way, it needs to go back to the shop.
