I have a 1995 G20 AT, 103K+ miles. I live in Spokane WA, current temp about 20F. There is a pump/motor running at the left front corner of the engine compartment. It will shut off if I disconnect one of two wiring attachements at the same location, just to the right of the wiper fluid fill tube as you are standing in front of the car. The car will start with that connector disconnected, but I have no clue what is going on. It's Sat and I am hosed until Mon. unless someone can help me. Any ideas.

Do a search for ABS problems, I think I remember this happening to someones Q a long time ago, I think it was a bad resitor or somethin like that, goodluck. If no info here go to g20.net and check it out.

Pretty much all brands have ABS relays which control the pump cycling.......theses relays can fail on after so many operations........103k is low mileage but 9-10 years is average.......way above the 7 years design life.

Change the relay fast as you don't want to wear out the ABS pump and spend $2,000 [or less at junkyard to get a used one].

Can I SAFELY drive the car with the relay/pump inactivated or will this disable or greatly effect my braking ability? I'm not worried about driving w/o the ABS, just brakes in general. :)
