in the G20 its a RWD SR20DE. my power steering pump currently went out and i haven't found anyone around here thats parting sr out. Was curious if i could just go to Napa/Baxter/Schucks/etc. and order a power steering pump from a G20 and slap it on my 240

i thought the g20 was fwd? correct me if im wrong. but i used a power steering pump from an old maxima, like a early 90's i think. anyway it had a 3.0( not dohc). the only thing i had to do was grind my original bracket to accomidate the maxima pump, the original bracket was a tad too small for the round portion of the pump (where the shaft that turns the pulley comes out of, yeah that round part that surronds/holds the seal bearing and shaft) very hard to explain w/o pics. so gring the bracket a little and viola u gotta a working power seering pump. my works great. im not sure the difference between the pumps besided what i just said but im sure theres some that knows more than me, its just harder when no one reads your thread. hope it helps. change the title to naked chicks inside.lol

its cool no worries. you really aint gonna cut up anything, all youre doing is grinding and anyone who is mechanicaly inclined can do it you just gotta trust your self. all i used was a dremal tool to grind, its not as bad as you may think. its alot better than paying an arm and a leg for a pump, it cost me 15.00 from a scarp yard. i say its deffinatly worth your time. thats just me though good luck with it.

If you still have the pump all you have to do is buy a DOHC PS pump and swap pully's. I have a dohc pump with a rebuilt kit to go with it in case it needs it, if your interested $40 shipped. I'm getting ready to sell all my PS stuff.

Thats fine. Find a local junk yard with a wrecked 240 with a DOHC. Or else your going to be paying out the a$$ to your local dealer to get that pump. I don't think you can buy them at a parts store, and if you can they are probably a few hundred. Good luck.
