I just bought a 2000 G20t and it works flawlessly except that the gauges sometime stop working. Anyone here have a clue on what the problem might be? I went to g20.net and searched but came up empty.

Well I would start with the wiring, there is probably something loose, a ground or something.

I have a 2000 Nissan Sentra that recently developed a problem with the instrument guages. During night driving, the guages stop working and then start working again after what I think is a cool down period. It appears as though the heat from the instrument panel lights builds up and is shutting the guages down with a temperature switch or something? I tested this theory by driving at night, but keeping the instrument lights of manually and they worked fine for the entire drive. Is there a temperture switch or interlock that anyone knows of? Dimming the instrument panel lights is an option too, as I tried this and it works but I would prefer to fix the problem.

Check your battery terminals for corrosion and the ground wires around the instrument panel. It may just be that they're a little loose and knocked around while driving.

There is no temperature switch so far as I know. Next time I'm driving at night I'll turn the dimmer to full bright and see.

This happens to my are sometimes, too. For me, it's the dimmer light knob thing. I guess it's wearing out and the contacts aren't very strong.

I have a 1999 G20, also demonstrating this issue. First, the odometer changes from numbers to nonsense, then fades to nothing (backlit, but no numbers showing) and then the speedometer, tach and temp gauge stop working. If I shut off the car and cycle the key it comes back, although sometimes after the car has been running for a sec. I'm thinking the heat comment may be accurate. I don't suppose anyone has found a fix yet? Other than shipping your cluster to be reman'd?

Im experiencing the same thing in my 99 g20t. Anyone here have a clue I been searching and cant come up with nothing. None of my gauges are working and my odo read 0 miles. I checked all fuses and all are fine. Anyone know where the relays are located at for the cluster? Any feedback will be great. I also check g20.net and nothing.
