G20 fuel pump failure

My '95 G20 has experienced a fuel pump failure. There was no warning at all (no humming like the typical warning signs from a Q45 fuel pump), and the car had been running well up to that point. Is there anything else that could have been damaged in this failure? Also, is around $800 unreasonable for this replacement?

Maybe $500 or $250 do it yourself.
