G20 feels like it's starting in 2nd gear

When I hit the gas in my G20 automatic from a stop, it seems to rev faster after reaching 2000rpm. Is this normal or is there something I should have looked at? The car isn't exhibiting any other odd behaviors. It's not a hesitation per se-it just feels like it's revving slower to 2000 than it should. It almost feels like it's starting in second gear...

Could a dirty throttle body cause this kind of thing?

Sorry you aren't getting more replies. I know little about the G20 except that it's a dandy little car and has a 4 banger. Does the G share its drive system with other Nissan offerings? If so, then perhaps you would have better luck for an informed response in one of the areas of the board where your engine and transmission are better known.
