Does anyone know if it's ok to just replace the MAF sensor or should the entire chamber and MAF sensor be replaced together? Does Nissan/Inifiniti have anything to say on this?

I ask this because I had just the MAF sensor replaced and there were still problems. Then it was determined that the sensor was faulty so it was replaced with a part that came with the chamber and the sensor.

Ive never heard of being able to replace the sensor and body, as far as I knew they only came as a package.

What problems are you having? if the MAF was truely replaced and it didnt fix whatever problem you probably need to look elsewhere.

The part that came complete with the chamber and sensor has resolved all the issues of engine running lean and poor idle emissions.

The part that came with just the sensor was delivered because apparently the complete chamber and sensor combo was back-ordered. By the way, I was charged the same price for both parts.

I'm trying to get re-imbursed for the faulty sensor and diagnostic time. So was looking for information that the complete chamber and sensor combo must be installed together.

Thanks for your assistance!

I lookedat the parts book and they dont offer the sensor element alone, only the sensor+chamber. Unless, you're talking about the top half of the airbox, but I would assume you're talking about the actual tubular thing the MAF sensor element sits in.

I think you got shafted because they dont offer that, and thered be no reason to take the element out of the sensor body.
