Anyone know where the tow point is? I've seen the metal screw in ring/eyelet back by the jack that looks like it would be used to screw in the front or back somewhere and be used as a tow point. I'd look in the manual, but it's in the car and I'm not with the car at the moment.

Long story short, Drifting and curbs/walls don't mix. Will fill in later.....but for now....I gotta tow my baby home and get ready for some wrench time.

So anyone know? Please answer if you do, the tow guy will be here in 30minutes to an hour and I don't want some redneck/hick trying to find hookups on my G. I'd rather just show him. I'm having them bring a flatbed so I can have it backed into my driveway/garage easily. Thanks for any info!

Cool thx Joe. I actually just found where it's at doing a google search. I've got a Greddy front bumper so it's pretty much open mouth, but I do recall what looked like it would be a screw in tow point on the front behind the license plate. The stock front bumpers have a little square plastic piece coving it up if I recall correctly.

And ya.....it may be costly when it all said and done. I'll let you guys know later and take some pics

I would recommend everyone join AAA Plus. They will send a flatbed truck and your membership includes 100 free miles. I never had to use it so far for my G35 but did use it twice for my previous Lexus. Once when the clutch went and once for a stuck caliper. Called AAA & they flatbeded my vehicle to the dealer no charge. Also good if you are ever in an accident to avoid getting ripped off by tow truck Nazi's

You can add towing to your insurance too. I have towing on my USAA insurance for $12 a year. They only tow 12 miles for free but how far away from home are you going to be?

Sometimes pretty far. Here in NJ we have a NJ Turnpike and a Garden State Parkway. Only certain tow operators can tow vehicles on these roads under contract. They only tow you to the nearest exit where you then need another tow. Using AAA greatly symplifies this as you do not have to worry about paying anything with your membership card. You can also demand a flatbed tow truck. Personally I would not want any of those tow truck $#sholes touching my vehicle. The few times either my wife or I needed AAA for towing they were great. They also will change a tire, supply maps, as well as other services. I guess $12 is pretty cheap but you get what you pay for. What happens if you or your wife gets a flat on a nasty rainy or snowy night with traffic moving at 75 to 80 MPH? Are you going to attempt to change a tire? Not me! I'll call AAA

My baby's home now...no worries on towing, but thanks all for info/input! 12 Bucks a year? hell ya, I have USAA as well, I may need to check that out.

I wasn't far from home, just a mile give or take. I was in a new housing area that has a bunch of nice new blacktop which I felt needed to be broken in properly There's actually a few of us that go out there to race/drift. A couple of S12's, Z's and a S14, corolla, and even a turbo'd Z28. There's pretty much no houses yet and it's in a field for the most part so you're away from everyone and can see everything. they've been holding off on construction for some reason, so we use it while it's there. Pretty much the next best thing to being on a closed track (yes I know it's still illegal ) It's actually pretty sweet, there's a few extra large coldasac's with little islands in the middle that make for some awesome teardrop drifts and many sweeping 45-90% turns with half coldasacs on the outside that make for some good high speed drifts. Anyways, I'm sure many of you can see where this is going. Basically I was haulin *** sideways in one of the 45-50% turns when my already a little over-exaggerated rear slip angle shot around real quick when I didn't correct properly and quickly enough to keep my line when the car started to straighten back out. So my overrsteer became my understeer real quick and I flung the G right into the curb. No one was hurt, but the car got some nice damage.

I scrapped up the front bumper some, and pretty much destroyed my right rear suspension along with my rim (obliterated), which then caused some nice bending/warping of the right rear quarterpanel from the tire smashing into the wheel well. I'll take some pics later and post em. Well....I know what I'll be doing this weekend

Would I do it all again you ask? Hell ya! Will I do it again after I get her fixed? With out a doubt. I may try to do the majority on the track now tho I'd much rather hit rubber tires or hay bales than a wall or curb

Thanks again for tips/info all

I don't mind payin, The little bit of repairs here and there easily dwarf the good times. Got a little more than a week before it's autocross time. Hopefully I can find all the parts I need in time. I don't think there are many salvage yards around here with G35's in em. I hate to buy new, on parts that are just as good used.
