Ok so I had to have my AC fixed.. The evaporator core burst.. Sucks $600 in parts (could only get them from the dealer) + $385 in Labor

But on the bright side my dashboard is completely disassembled. So... now is the best time for some Mods/Fixes.

Here are my questions:

What is the best way to put it all back together so that it does not make noise or creak? Are there rubber washers or sound deadening things I can use to make sure I don't have noise from the dash?

What kind of bulbs does the cluster take?? If I change them to LEDs (if possible) will it change the color of the cluster? I know it has a film on it but could I make it brighter or maybe redder with different bulbs?

My CD Player is busted (CD FO ERROR) How can I take it apart and Fix it?

Any other Ideas for mods while the dash is in pieces?

I don't know if this has been tested on cars before, but how about that expandable spray foam insulation that home builders use???? Maybe that would "lock" everything in place once you've put everything back together...

Have you had a problem with creaking before? Maybe if you get all your wires in place and secure them, then add that expandable foam, it will secure everything in place...

Again... never tested that I know of... Just throwing out Ideas...

Dynamat. Hell if you can see the firewall, dynamat it, and the car will be a lot quieter. Bulbs, dunno.

Hardwire a radar detector while you have it apart.

The stereo, there is a place you can send it to, and they will fix it. It's in a thread somewhere...

If you have it apart already, get a double din CD player along with the new buttons and trim...that's what I would do. As for the rattles and squeaks...you have to figure out where they're coming from and go from there...its kind of a locate and fix thing. I've used paper, cotton, or that thin foam wrapping stuff before on other cars...seemed to work.

Now that I'm thinking clear headed, you're right... that probably wouldn't work out so well. I was a little "Otis'ed" last night, so I wasn't dispensing the finest of advice...

oh well... Good luck.
