Test drove G37 convertible. Funny harmonic engine noise under acceleration under load. Back at dealer revs limited to 4500 rpm. What gives?

Rev limiter should be at 7500 rpm. I dont know why it was limited to 4500. Maybe went into limp mode if it detected some sort of problem. The Vert has a different exhaust than the coupe or sedan. I was told to keep it from so loud when the to is down.

Were you trying to rev it past 4500rpm in park? Engine management won't allow it as a means of protection. If the car is an automatic it will not allow you to do a brake stand burnout either.
