Guys- I am that impressed with my new G-35S that I am considering buying a G-37S with Active Steering as an option if I can find one.

Is this option worth the search and money or is the Sport Package sufficient ? I do twisties but not track work.

Opinions.

I only drove it once. It felt a little weird. I think just have to get use to it. If I were you I would take one out for long testdrive and make a decision from that point.

The only time I would consider active steer is if I was planning on tracking the car a lot. Since it will be my daily driver I saw no need.

Sure, there are other reasons for it I guess

I have half of this---RAS, on my G-35 Coupe. Makes a difference in handling. You never know when you might decide to push the car on twists, turns and curves. I certainly had no need for my RAS in the beginning, but now, I am glad i have it. IMHO, get it if you can afford it.

The new systems are much better than the old once, but I remember hearing about people with HICAS and Super HICAS crashing more because they didn't know how to deal with rear wheel steering.

There are several threads on this topic that are worth reading. Search for phrases like "4WAS" and "active steer" in the bodies of both recent and archived threads. There used to be a permanently available thread with several published road tests. You can also find numerous G37 tests by searching the internet.

I chose not to spend the extra money for the 4WAS package. At best, I thought its benefits would be small. At worst, I was worried that it would queer the handling. From reading the various road tests, I got the impression that those who only drove the car on the street liked it while those who drove it on the track did not. The latter said that the computer's messing with alignment and steering made for inconsistent and unpredictable handling at the limit.

i also chose not to go with the rear steer. i figure it would only serve to fail, long term wise. it also may effect the modability of your car depending on what you want to do. the money i saved was substantial as a result.

Only those with 4WAS and/or perhaps RAS can tell you how it really feels. I doubt Infiniti created this technology for fun. If cash isn't an issue, then get it.
