As most of you know the seat belt buckles are Vert specific. Meaning other 240sx's be it S-13 or S-14 do not work.

Instead of tracking down verts in junkyards, an easy replacement is from the 1990-1996 Nissan 300ZX (twin turbo or NA, it doesn't matter)

You can use their seatbelt buckles for either the pass or the drivers side. Both work fine.

Just a little cross referencing part action.

Enjoy..

Good Info!!!

Personally... when installing my S14 seats, I simply swapped buckles from the old seats to the new seats... so it wasn't a big deal.

But, if that option is not available.. sure is nice to be able to swap with 300zx parts.

Welcome to NICO V.!!

Good info. Looks like you have 300zx and replaced yours with buckles from 240 vert. True?

thanks man..

I have been helping my brother complete his RB25DET Swapped Vert. We will be posting pics and what not real shortly.

I have learned that when in doubt about Vert specific parts, a good place to look is with the Z cars. They both were designed for bigger loads and tougher operating conditions, than the simple 240's.

You will find that is also true about the RB engines... very often the parts from the VG's are indentical or close enough to work for many of the RB parts..

Been there done that.. RB's and VG's were built in the same place on the same line. They share TONS of parts.. we knew that going into the project.

What we did as far as the seats were concerned was swapped in S-14 seats.. but used Z32 buckles. The s-14 buckles would not work. Nor would other S-13 ones. The only ones that fit were a spare set that I had on a spare set of Z seats.

yeah its common knowledge the vert buckles are different but the reason they used the Z parts has nothing to with "heavy duty" and all to do with the door designed... the vert uses a pillar extremely similar to the Z ones and they just used Z seatbelts in em.
