FX37 road noise?

Hi,
Just picked up a new FX37 AWD and noticed unusually high road noise and ride seems a bit too firm for standard 18" wheels and Bridgestone Dueller P/T tires.
Strangely when I test drove '12 FX35 earlier this year I have not noticed such issues.
Would that be a problem with my car, or tires? Can it be that they have downgraded sound insulation for FX37?

Were both of the crossovers AWD?

Did they both have the same size wheels and brand of tires?

If you answered yes to the top two then it could be that Infiniti decided to use less noise suppression in the FX37. Or it could also be a bad batch of tire(s).

Hey hooch888,

I now have an FX37 and can tell you that the road noise you hear comes from the tires. Michelin is, by far, the best tire for noise, comfort, and treadwear. I will be putting on a set of Michelin LTX M/S2 on mine when the Bridgestones become bald. Also, check your tire pressure. My tires were "ringing" when I was driving it home which is evident of way too much air in the tires. This will certainly contribute to a hard ride. I had 49psi in each tire!! I deflated them to 37psi and the ride dramatically improved. If you can swing a set of Michelins for it then go for it. Otherwise, crank up the volume to your favorite music and enjoy the ride. Here's to having many miles of smiles. :dblthumb:
