Going to be in the market for a 04-06 FX real soon.

Want to know the differences between the 35 & 45. Of course the motors are different. From what I gathered, one is a 3.5L V6 and the other 4.5L V8....

What I am most curious about is the transmissions, suspensions, and interiors that these vehicles came with. Are they different from one model to the other.

If you could provide your insight it would be most appreciated.

Welcome to the FX Forum! As you mentioned, the FX35 comes with the 3.5 V6 engine, and the FX45 comes with the 4.5 V8 engine. They both have the same transmission and the same interiors. In all honesty, the same options were available on both models as well. Of course the 45 is more expensive, and if you are all about the max power available, go with the 45, otherwise you will be very happy with the 35.

Yes, the only difference is that more of those features were standard on the FX45 vs optional on the FX35.

Also, keep in mind that Infiniti had issues with oil consumption in some of their V8s. The problem should have been corrected by '05, but some '04s might still suffer from it. Just make sure you get a good maintenance history so that you can verify your car isn't affected. Infiniti can provide the maintenance history provided it was serviced with them.

Thanks for the info!! Funny thing is, the price difference between the 35 and 45 isnt much here.....but im more thinking the fuel consumption must be a little better on the 35 in the city.

The one thing I want to make sure of before I decide is that the suspension setups are the same on both models. I have only seen the salmon results (back in 03) of the 45 and damn were they impressive.

Also I want bluetooth and read that it came in the 06 and up is this correct. And is it possible to install bluetooth somehow into and older model.
