Hello all,

My FX35 shut down while driving down the highway. It would start and then stall out after a stumble. It was towed back to the house and scanned. It threw a significant amount of codes. No codes were present before hand, battery new. Battery tests good. Since then it has not started, it will crank but won’t start. It also rapidly drains the battery. I’m at a loss as now the scanner does not seem to be communicating with the vehicle . Remote start was disconnected incase it was having issues but I get the same result. Any suggestions outside of towing to Infiniti?

100,xxx on the vehicle

Is the security LED lit solid with the key on? Generically, anytime a scanner won't connect, the first things to check are the ECM fuse (in the IPDM, usually marked EGI) and the ECM Relay.

A wise man once told me this: The crank position sensor (bottom) of the engine (FX35 or FX45) goes bad first, because it's "Hall Sensor" works twice as hard as the cam postion sensors. He also recommends using the Hitachi brand since it is the OEM sensor Infiniti uses. In my FX45 the CPS is accessed from under the car on the passenger side, Just remove the small skid cover plate and you will see it
