FX35 hitch problems

My FX35 OEM dealer installed hitch tilts down abour 3-5 degrees instead of being perfectly level. You can only tell if there is something attached, in my case a Thule bike rack.

The dealer in Ardmore PA is refusing to fix it, stating its not the hitch that is tilted. I've tried several other items besides the bike rack, all of which are tilted so I think they are wrong.

I got a copy of the installation instructions from a very helpful guy who posted them on another forum. It seems that leaving out the washers on the rear attachment points would account for the problem.

To be fair to the dealer, does anyone know if this is a design flaw in the hitch or do others have perfectly level ones.

Ive installed a few of those hitches. They are pita to install. anyway, they only really fit one way. cant install it tilted because the bolt holes wont line up.

Thanks, I appreciate the feedback because the dealer's been OK most of the time over past 8 years. The other time they couldn't fix something it turned out to be a flaw (ground loop in the audio system) common to all FX rear AV systems. It would have been nice if they figured it out instead of me, but at least that's not a dealer issue.

Unfortunately, I'm less familiar with mechanical stuff than I am with electronics, so I'm not sure how to fix this one for them if it is a design/manufacturing issue again.
