Buddy of mine is moving to seattle and decided his 91' 325 convertible is not going with him. He said he wanted a AWD so I told him to check out these cars. Went to Peninsula Infiniti today in the bay area, same place I bought my 97' Drove both, nice cars for sure. The 35 has nice guts, not as much as the 45 but after we did the drive he decided it wasn't enough difference.

Than we drove a RS330 Lexus...big difference. Rides very smooth, a little more roomy, but gutless wonder. Nice soccer mom car, he liked the FX much better, although I have to say the Lexus leather was more supple and their rear seat a little nicer appointed. also that power opening hatch was a nice touch too. I guess that maps into the Soccer Mom features.

so, than I asked the guy about the Q and M...they had exactly one of each on the lot, told me he's only seen one or two Q's sold and a few more M's but not anymore. Can you imagine only one on the lot. The Lexus dealer next door had 15 LS430's in stock.

Ahh, the sales trend that started in 1990 continues even today. Fortunately other products kept the brand kicking. I wish my folks had the personality for an FX. Problem is, I'd be jealous.

The RX looks so "pinched" at the rear, I'm not a fan at all. And I'll repeat a statement I made once before, the FX looks like the "futuristic" Hot Wheels from when I was a kid.

Think FX35 AWD, off a lease and add FI :D.

I drove an FX 35 for a week while my car was being fixed and I was very impressed. It had sat radio and the optional sport package and 20 inch wheels. It rode much smoother than my G coupe. It had enough room in the back for my bike when I took the front wheel off, which was nice. Very comfortable, very quick and nice options are available. If I wasn't so attached my G coupe I would trade the coupe and the Jeep Cherokee in for an FX 45 with the tech and sports packages.

Sorry, I meant Forced Iinjection, SC or turbo. DOn't they offer kits for both the 350Z and G35 that should be applicable??

Yes there are super chargers and turbos available for the G35 and 350Z which both use the same VQ35 engine that the FX35 uses.

Oh, Forced Induction. So many acronyms, so much confusion. Sorry.

ROFL!

My mom describes the Lexus RX very well... "Someone took a balloon, and then sat on it and called it a car."

that is the way the RX rides, perfect for a 66 year old realtor that drives around, total snore fest for anyone under 60. And 230 horse from the VVti engine with 3.3 liters, come on that is just gutless.

I wonder what the weight of the RX versus FX? My buddy by the way is very into the FX, he is thinking a full loaded FX35 right now

If you think that's bad, try driving a '96-'99 QX/Pathfinder...3.3 liters with only 168 hp. That makes climbing the hills dreadful. The 2000-2004 QX benefit from the 240 hp increase, but it comes at a cost since the new engine switched over to premium gas.

We drove a Xterra 180 horse and it was much of the same but drove like a truck. It is getting the 240 horse engine too and really needs it, but my buddy is right now leaning hard on a FX35.

Former neighbor would agree. She traded in her Max for an Xterra. I was sure she would say it was a much nicer ride than the old Max, but she said it was really harsh.
