FX 35 2004 with sport package -tires

We own a 2004 with 40,000 miles on it. Have loved it so far over the past 5 months we've owned it. We have Goodrich tires on it.

Are Goodyear tires standard on these?

We took a trip cross country and hit a rain storm. The dang car hydroplaned across the highway almost hit an 18 wheeler and sent us into a revine. We could have died! Anyone know what tires we should have on the vehicle? Any that are superior for this vehicle in rain and snow?? The car vibrates a lot too...Thanks for any input.

Are they the original tires? If you need replacement tires, get on tirerack.com and search by tire size, then look to see which ones get rated highest in the wet traction catagory. After narrowing it down to a few, start reading up on each and see which ones you want the most.
