fwd rwd ka24de head difference?

is there a difference between the heads on a rwd ka24de head like a 240sx and a fwd head like an altima? They are both ka24de's but i heard there was a difference. Basically i want to do a sohc to dohc swap on my 240 and i have an altima engine lined up to buy. Will the head work? I also have a set of 91 240 sx cams to put into the head if i get it. Any information would be appreciated. thanks

welcome to nico!no they are not interchangable. it may be possible to do something custom but i think it would be a real pain. the dist on the altima comes out the whole other side of the engine. that means the dist would be coming out where the firewall is now. the manifolds also point the opposite way. you will save a lot of money and effort if you get a rwd head/motor.
