are there any drift associations that allow FWD cars? my friend big john is curious. he drives a kia rio (FWD) and he wants to show up to an event instead of fooling around in the mickey ds parking lot.

no need to be angry. im just curious because on d1gp site it says 2wd cars only. fwds fall into the 2wd category. sorry for asking such a newbie question. im fourteen dude.

I'm sure there are some small local events that might let him enter, but he'll just get made fun of.

its *** DRAGGING.

and nobody really cares. ive opened my events to FWD cars since the beginning nobody will come out.

basically you will look like an idiot in front of 100+ people.

drifting is not a FWD sport.

Seriously, I mean, if you're the kind of guy that thinks a small FWD hatch dragging it's *** around a track looks cool then more power to you. but everyone else will think your (friend) is a tool. he must get quite a workout yanking that e-brake so much....

at the track it'll be you -> and everyone else will be like ->

how come in every thread you make, you have to explain that you are 14? just let them figure it out by your questions such as "can my dumbass friend drift his kia rio in D1GP this season"

don't get me wrong, I'm laughing my a$$ off at this kid too, but I have to admit, taking my brother in law's $hitty civic hatch he cares nothing about down a dirt road sliding sideways is good for loads of laughs and good fun, even after we sort of crashed into a tree. I don't condone drifting on public streets, but hey we were bored, watching drift videos on youtube, and everything in the driveway at his house was either fwd, or a truck of some sort. The only way the day could have gotten better after that would be if we had painted a rebel flag on the roof and found some good jumps!

I was thinking of rolling up the passenger side window just to watch my bro-in-law try to jump through it and fall flat on his a$$ knocked out!

in all honesty... you don't use food trays. it's a waste of time. they burn out in like 2 minutes. my buddy and i "drift" his '06 kia spectre 5 all the time. you find those plastic pallets and you cut 'em into four sections and they'll last you a half hour or more on a nice wet day in a fresh parking lot. now i'm not saying it is even comparable to drifting but don't knock it untill you try it the "right" way. lol. i'll post some short vids as soon as i can so you all can have a good laugh. it really is a lot of fun. and the pallets are free. kind of...

Here ya go, FWD drifting http://www.boredom-induced.com/vids/aspire1.wmv beware some of the stuff they got on there, very NSFW Fwd drifting just dont work... the base idea of a drift fails when the power is to the front wheels and not the rear, not to mention AWD drifting, thats another story. This isnt underground, you cant really drift a for focus.
