yes there is such a thing, its a common swap for the pulsar guys. i believe the FWD CA is non-intercooled tho and has the intake manifold opening upwards to accept a pipe that feeds from the turbo over the engine directly into the intake mani.

Yes there are fwd ca18det, I got one, I have 87 pulsar which I installed a fwd ca18det, they came in the blue bird in Japan, 87-88 they came none intercooled this is the first generation of the ca18det and in 89-91 they came top mount intercooled, I got both engines, and the top mount intercooled ca18det has about 25hp more plus it is built tougher at the bottom end, it has a crank inforced thick piece of metal which it goes parrall under the crank, while the none intercooler it doesn't have this piece also the none intercooled engine has the intake looks exactly the same as an north american pulsar which it extends over the valve cover.

These are some pics of my car , I am currently running 242 hp at the flywheel and 202hp at the wheels, with JWT ecu, 13psi, z32 MAF, Z32 fuel pump. I will be getting a t28 soon and 550cc injectors.

I got pics of the first generation of the ca18det , I will try to post them some time soon.

I hope I answered your question.

Hey man, of course they exist and they ARE intercooled, they come from a late generation Bluebird Attessa I believe and the regular CA18DE transmission bolts right on. You will have to custom make some shafts for sure if you want to put it on a 200SX or something like that but they do exist and I have one for sale!
