I'm someone that likes to plan ahead. I have an excel spreadsheet that I've been editing over the years to suit my needs of what I expect of the car and myself for that matter. I was always into the Garrett GT BB turbo's and trying to keep my setup as stock as possible. Now I'm trying to be more open minded and am looking at some T3/T4 turbos and setups and had a few questions. Power goals at the end for me are at 400whp. As of now, its "WHP dreams" but its only a stable job away for me.

What can I do about a manifold? I trust CXRacing so I was looking at their manifold, but I've heard stories of the "eBay type" top mounts breaking/cracking and what not due to the extra weight. Anybody running T3/T4 turbo with SSAC manifold? Is it probably better if I had one built or tried to build my own?

I'm looking into downpipe options, and I'm liking the V-Band sorta setups. I've already decided thats a job left to the exhaust shop.

Now for the turbo. I did a bit of research on here last night and found that people really like the 50trims. I found these two Journal Bearing T3/T4, but not sure on some things.

^^this first one comes with a 50trim compressor and i think i'd want to go with the Ford 5-Bolt for the .48 A/R turbine, then get an adapter to go to V-Band.

^^this one is basically the same, except for a bigger turbine wheel (?) and this is only oil cooled, not water cooled. I'm not sure if the first turbo link is water cooled or not.

Any input is great. I know i still have alot more research and have a very open mind on things. I just want to learn and expand my knowledge so I'm not set on one path.

I just did a search a few days ago on the best 50 trim t3/t04 turbo. I have found a company that has stood by its products for years and they always produce really good products. The turbo is a little spendy but it is definately worth it.

I don't like the GT series turbo's because everyone runs one, I would rather run a mitsu turbo or a T3/T4 turbo. I looked long and hard at ATP's turbo but it just didn't have the same amount of quality as this other company.

As a little background, I used to own a SRT-4 with 350hp and over 420lbs of torque and ran low 12's. I did that all on a 16g turbo. I like to have my power fast and hold. I would rather have a 350hp turbo that had a rev range of 4000rpms at 350hp rather than have a 500hp turbo with a revrange of 2000rpm's. I always beat cars that had more hp than me because I had my power faster and held it longer. This is why I will always believe in the small exhaust housing when you have a street driven car. If its a track car its a different story.

Now I guess I have held you for long enough. AGP Performance has been with the Neon guys for a very long time, I am not only talking about the SRT's they had a FWD Neon in the 10's back in the 90's i believe. The SRT guys rave about their 50 trim in a .63ar housing, and I would of got one if I didn't have to deal with smog but I believe thier T3 turbo with a 4 bolt rear housing and a .48ar would dominate a CA18. quick spool and it would beable to support lots of power.

here is the link for it:

I don't think a twin ball bearing option is required with a .48 backhousing unless you have the money to burn. their anti surge compressor comes stock and this will be the turbo I purchase for my CA.

What we're the main differences in quality you saw?

Another quick spooling, broad powerband producing, durable, and underrated turbo is the Holset turbo's, probably an HX35.
