alright i know i may be flamed for this but i have done a lot of research and lurking on this forum and others and i have the basic idea for my setup but i would like some pointers and opinions

i am working on a 97 240sx 300whp reliable DD

my main concern right now is what EMU to use and what turbo. Right now i am leaning towards greddy e-manage ultimate b/c of the price they can be had and the able (it seems like) to expand the setup and the ability to fine tune and the data logging ability but i would really like further input on other options and everyone opinions on them.

now for the turbo i will admit i am new to turbo's but i have been doing my research but would like to know your guys opinion would be the best to use. like i said my goal is 300whp and a spool at 3k - 3500 so that i dont spool during daily driving.

also is there a water pump and oil pump upgrade for the KA, i cant seem to find any yet.

thanks for the help and sorry for the newbish questions

Water pump is fine. Oil pump wouls be wither to replace it with a new one or there is a way to shim it for more oil pressure. I have a mani turbo and wastegate to sell if your intersted. Hell if you want my complete setup I got injectors mafs and ecu.... But you need an s14-s13 harness piece.

You wont learn much about tuning until you start boosting, tuning NA is way different than tuning with boost. If this is your first boosted car the best and easiest way to go is a ECU/ROM tune. It will cost as much as a Greddy E-Manage, and wont give you the headaches i have heard people with that unit get.

The easiest way to get into tuning is after you get a rom tune, buy a SAFC and a wideband and fine tune your ECU.

i have the ultimate and I like it. Next best thing to a standalone if you know how to use it.

I would trust it up to the 400whp range.

Pluses: Timing adjustments Can handle 1000cc injectors Tuned specially for your setup Can keep your stock mafs if you buy a map sensor Can datalog timing, rpm, afr, knock, water temp, inj duty cycle, + more, all in real time.

cons: Not plug and play Wiring diagram suplied is wrong and won't allow you to datalog timing, but can be fixed easily. Low support

Just make sure if you get the emu you get all the supporting harnesses, they make tuning much easier. If you do go this route and have any questions just email me at [email protected]. Aceinhole is also very helpful and knowledgeable about the emu

As far as turbo goes, get a t3/t04e 50trim with a stage 3 wheel. Exhaust housing is up to you, .48a/r will get you better spool but hurt you up top..63a/r will slow spool but give you better top end.

Can't beat the 50trim for a <380whp IMO

I get full spool (10psi) on .63a/r by 3000-3200rpm depending on the weather. My turbo is ball bearing, but journal bearing shouldn't be much different.
