I purchased a couple of days ago a 1976 Bmw 3.0 si, 55000 miles, all there and super straight, the bad about it is that it's been parked in a barn for more than 20yrs and mechanically I dont know if its going to be easy to make it run again.
That price was the best about it, so its going to be alot of work and alot of fun restoring this automobile, I have one cellphone pic but when I get the car home I'll take more.

Went this morning to take the car home after a 95 mile trip and the f*** tow truck broke down. Tomorrow is definite , took some more pics from inside the garage it was buried in, very exited about it.

Was it running before it was parked?
If so, I would change the oil, replace the battery, then take out the plugs and pour some oil into each cylinder.
Then crank the engine by hand from the crankshaft, with a socket and breaker bar.
Once you have done a full revolution of the motor, get someone to crank it from the ignition, while you hold a rag over the plug holes to catch all the excess oil.
Put in new plugs and some fresh gas, and see what happens!
(I hope it's as easy as that for you)

Thanks , that did not cross my mind. The previous owner said it ran before it was parked. Hope it's not such a big headache but going to enjoy putting this one on the road.

You should drain the fuel out first. I also request engine pics

Here is an engine shot.

The guy selling the BMW had another one that's a little rougher than the first one and ended up giving it away for free, my brother is taking this one, it's going to be a s*** load of work but we are in no rush.

Looks like both may have been through a flood or two?

Looks like it but no flood, just abandoned for a long a** time, they look better in person, engines spin on both and tear down started on the first one.

I thought it looked like they hauled mulch before putting it away. :) The tan leather looks pretty good and appears it can be just cleaned which is a good sign. :bigthumb:

20 years without running is a LONG time. You'll probably have to replace all the dry rotted hoses and belts, every fluid, tires, calipers could be frozen, etc.

Pray the transmission works.

That second car looked scary. Id give that to my brother too lol. I also agree with just a good steam cleaning on the interior
