The immediate future is probably the EX37 that is already on sale in Europe with the new G engine. That will be an easy upgrade.
I would have to think that Infinti has heard the auto press consensus that the back seat needs a little more room. When they get to a redesign I'd expect that to grow by two-three inches and possibly up the trunk size some. Most other aspects of the vehicle are great. They need to keep the product distinct from the FX35. That probably bounds the box.
I'd expect some revision in the options packages - make the xenon head lamps more common.
More generally, this is becoming a crowded segment and it may be difficult to compete. Infiniti needs to drive their brand desirability upwards to keep in the game - a lot of people given a choice will choose BMW, Audi, Mercedes, or Lexus at the same price and performance given the status associated with those brands. Infiniti seems to have improved their offerings greatly in the last decade and also seems to be upgrading their dealerships. Discounts get people in and move cars and build awareness but aren't a long term solution.
